Comet will give Mars a close shave – maybe even a razor burn – in 2014
The first comet discovered this year, Comet C/2013 A1, expected to rise to about 23,000 miles inside (37,000 kilometers) the surface of Mars recently in 2014. While the event itself promises spectacular views for astronomers, the uncertainty of the orbit of the comet includes a significant potential impact on Mars.
