postheadericon 'Attribution' Troll On Press Inc. Now 50% Less 'Troll-like!' Also: NOT Yelling At People Sells More Books!

Last week we brought you the epic (if only in length) a history of "attribution" troll goes by the name of The Press Inc, patrolling Twitter, harass people proper attribution of a poem Shaun Shane inhuman and persistence with a grab bag of legal terminology.

As expected, once the words call troll secrets were revealed, many people rushed to their Twitter accounts to try their luck. We were not disappointed. Over on Boing Boing, Rob Beschizza tweeted a Tongues awarded "Made of Glass" and was beaten quicky with the expected explosion of tweets canned.

In the press should have realized

something

happens that the coup (and huge) increase poem quote anonymous. For some time, the financial press has fallen almost silent. A few hours later, however, their responses quickly became much more friendly.

Apparently in Press Inc. realized (thanks to a very public dirty clothes) than their previous tactics have not won friends, clients or respect. This
new
approach is bound to be more successful on all fronts, if for no other reason than the former did nothing more than paint as both Shaun and Shane On arrogant thugs Press, Inc. exactly the kind of people you want to meet someone, even less support. However, I guess it was. Very long and eventful for which the press operates horde Twitter tweet this (my new favorite!) Almost summarized.

[today?]

Thus, in the press should be applauded for making this experience exposure and generate additional use of some additional sales fans of Shaun and Shane. In fact, someone who claims to be the press liked this comment in the original post here Saturday night.

We thank
It is in the press. The truth is that Mr.Cushing thank you. Although at first it dimissed his position as naive reactionary, they brought a little attention to the work of Shane. So much so, we sold 3219 (at that time) Shane book in the last two days (more than us in a month) and have received thousands of emails indicating how many people like his work. So, by all means go for it. This is the best advertising we have. Most people seem not to accept the position that the use of someone's work without credit is acceptable. With much gratitude, On Press Inc.

Now, I will not comment publicly on the accuracy of the sales figures

because this is not the point. I have to believe that there has been an increase in sales for two reasons: 1. additional exposure and 2. a nice "Press experience" on Twitter. I am not commenting on the last sentence ... yet.
? _ ?

Although there New In the press sheet to deliver on Twitter, it seems to me that it is always the same in the press (only grudgier) away from the platform. I first clued herein by Kendra Albert, who tweeted me a link to your blog
her
Press experience. She tweeted the poem, with a link to our history, and received this reply. (The picture below is Kendra.)

All very well, except that several hours later, a comment from someone who claims to be the press appeared in a post two weeks of age to leave a comment / complaint about the violation of copyright giving proper attribution, etc. Other comments followed (credited to "onpress17"), but it was a little rough.

Here, we talk to ourselves, it's Tim Cushing Press (Techdirt) Shane poem posted on his Twitter account without credit to Shane. We asked him to remove his post. What is our legal right to demand. He then responded to what can only be described juvenile ranting. He selectively published what he wants in his strange ramblings webpage. But images in all conversations. You can not publish the work of the author no credit for them. Not only illegal but immoral. If someone has posted something and put it on the Internet without credit and get in touch with them and refused to credit you and then publish your work on the Internet without your credit and then encouraged his friends to publish the work without the credit for you, we wondered how it would feel. As we do. Shane will be credited for their work. And this is all that was asked to Cushing

finally reappeared onpress17 to add a comment to the current position.
You post was not for comments or information that has been encouraging. This is not a fair use. We understand that some people have a limited understanding and too simplistic author, what is expected of fans. But it must be put into perspective the efforts Mr.Cushings. Of all the issues we deal with every day, is much smaller and not the first of its kind that we or others have faced editors. And we have a little experince to solve these problems. Although they take a little time. Secondly, Mr. Cushing made quite a few criminal and civil offenses that are in the process of exposing its cons. But, as we have said, prosecutions take time. We have, and we are confident that we will in the future also face Mr.Cushings genres such as we have done in the past. But it is the nature of the question at this time and this problem will be resolved in our favor. However, we suggest you to better understand the limits of fair use.
It therefore appears that in the press (or persons claiming to be in press) plays well on Twitter, but still brutal (and confused) everywhere. Someone who claims to be the press also visited Boing Boing add writeup on this story:

We would really like to know if you'll come out of hiding behind the shield loose words in a blog excuted shame that this list is no way to get a hold on you and give us some contact information in the real world. For indeed, if you assume that you are right there can be no harm in that we can resolve the court. Or maybe you just want to be so revolutionary that does that hide behind childish speech stupid ramblings on a Web site. Or are you really "put their money where their mouth is" as they say. So give us some contact information and stop being a coward.

All this comes from

very
anonymous log Inc., which has yet to provide any person with a URL address e-mail contact name, or anything else. Someone who claims to be the press also visited Michael Geist's blog put things in a "misquote" with the name "Tammy". (H / t to Eric Lorenzo). And there is much to say in the comments section in the book that offers Press "more info on Amazon. "Michael Bradshaw" got in all competitions to deliver gems like these:

"... it (Cushing) acted like a child and idiot wrote this article wrong. Notice he did not buy the book ... And anyone who wants to go to these lengths over an artist first credit is seriously disturbed ... Anyone who supports this type of unethical behavior is the child so that emotional Cushing . "

" Cushing never read the book Shane is just an idiot who knows more immature than respond as a child when his immturity faces. "

"Tim Cushing and others have posted fake notifications when Shane Cushing poem published without credit and asked the 'accrediting instead of being a decent human being decides to write a misconception in retaliation immature. Only an idiot could do things like "

addition, the date of original publication, This email was sent on Techdirt Facebook account. [Between Interjections are my comments.]
Ah, Mr. funny enough for their efforts Cushing're. Research skills need a little work, but they are interesting to check, though. With regard to some of the uninformed opinions you stated in your post (rather odd length), we will fix it. Shaun Shane died and died of cancer in 2010 and is buried in Connecticut. [Link to an obituary, perhaps?]
He wanted all his work and property of the author in The Press Inc
