postheadericon Awesome Stuff: Lasers, Infrared And Photons

Another week, the most impressive projects crowdfunding. No need to waste time with the introduction, let's get right to the point.
  • The project is definitely still a work in progress and it looks pretty raw right now, but a lot of rewards concerning the presentation of plans to build your own from various household items.
  • Well you are right, it is unfair and wants real lasers? What's blue laser lamp. While discussing its use for home theater and outside, it really seems more likely to be useful as a night light of some sort. It also has an environment which suggests that this could be the next lava lamp. Something that stoned college think it looks awesome, but has little functional practice. However, this is a unique design, and I think some people out there can appreciate.
    Price
Early Bird ($ 35) sold out quickly, and the project has gained a huge amount of help very quickly, even if it still has a long way to go before reaching its goal. Given the time that remains, however, I doubt that you have a lot of trouble to get there.

Finally, perhaps something a bit more useful. The first time I got to "play" with a 3D scanner was in 1997 when I took a class with Donald Greenberg (who later went to work and consult), a pioneer in 3D graphics and Director Cornell Program of Computer Graphics. Had
Solid 3D scanner in his lab, and I became the Guinea pig in our class, get my head scanned. While I recognize technological trends standard under which the products of a lower price that much better, always seemed ridiculous to think that it would one day not so far in the future that are 3D scanners personal home and a possible reasonable price. There has been much discussion about 3D printers, but less attention has been given to exploring. So it is good to see the 3D Scanner Photon, which is an attempt to make a 3D scan of affordable housing.
