The Engadget Interview Chul Bae Lee, VP of LG's mobile design lab at MWC 2013

We met Lee Chul Bae - Vice LG mobile laboratory design - in Seoul last fall and we had the chance to spend a few minutes with him on the stand of the company at MWC. Flagship LG Optimus Pro G is quite the splash in Barcelona, ??but it looks quite different from Optimus G. We asked Mr. Lee will guide us through the design process behind new superphone society. He mentioned that LG offers two lines of high-end products, one focusing on the premium design (Optimus G) and the other in the design of high performance (G Optimus Pro) and shared with us a diagram for illustrate this (after the break). The new system focuses on usability, rather than the style with a comfortable and warm, with soft edges and rounded corners.

We discussed the scope of the screen extremely narrow, ring notification RGB hit the start button, the camera lens back and the IR transmitter (for QREMOTE feature). Mr. Lee explained that the placement of buttons around the G Optimus Pro has been carefully chosen to minimize interference with the power button / lock - which includes QNote button, which can be reassigned to invoke other applications, and even as a key twofold. Then we talked about the new Optimus Series F, which combines the design features of DNA headlights with performance specifications (such as LTE) at a more affordable price, and the Optimus line L II, offering unique designs for specific markets (Europe only SIM and dual SIM in Latin America). Hello relax during our video interview and check the wiring diagram above.
