postheadericon Shockingly Craigslist Account Soliciting Naked Photos For Revenge Porn Has Same IP As Site Owner And Fake Lawyer

Know a while since the last time I wrote about the IsAnybodyDown "revenge porn" website, which went from questionable (and possibly illegal) practice questionable (and possibly illegal) practice. You will recall that the first site when we noticed a "announcement" on the site claims to be a lawyer who obtained nude photos on the site for a small fee demolished. The problem? Well, "lawyer David Blade" does not seem to exist., And e-mails came from the same IP address as the owner of the site (and no, the IP addresses are not enough to ensure that they are the same person, but it raises questions.) Since then, the guys behind the site Chance Trahan and Craig Brittain, have complaint after complaint crazy crazy often with little basis in reality. There was an attempt to silence criticism by through false DMCA notifications, followed by false legal threats.

In November, Adam Steinbaugh said that apparently most of the images were sent via deceive people on Craigslist to send nude pictures, which seems Brittain think this is the equivalent of permission to publish the images. At one point, Brittain has published emails showing some communications Craigslist came through your own email address. Oops.

seems that more and more people are becoming aware of this, and realize that if you ask these Brittain images, often lying to unsuspecting people, legal issues that can be compared increase dramatically. reporter Denver, Brian Maass talked to a woman whose images appeared on the website and email exchange ... came from the same IP address as Brittain and non-lawyer "David blade."

Friday night, CBS4 Maass interview broadcast "with a woman he met another woman on Craigslist called" Jess Davis. "Davis and correspondence sent nude photos of itself, and asked the other woman daring to send pictures back. Davis also asked their date of birth and phone number, saying he wanted to have "a good time". The victim went with the change, believing it was interacting with a woman.
Five days later, photos of women were IsAnybodyDown and your contact information. "This is something I did not want everyone to see," Maass said in the interview, in which his face darkened and his voice.

is jessdavis877@gmail.com emails came from the same IP address that the e-mails, such as email lawyer Craig Brittain "Takedown" named "David Blade III" which, apparently, also from Colorado Springs home Brittain.
Steinbaugh Given previous reports on this subject, it is not surprising, but it raises legal issues may arise against Brittain some time.

If Brittain created false identities to acquire photographs published online women and it is obvious that it is not protected by the federal law that protects believes now Article 230 of the Communications Decency Act. This law protects website owners from liability for material posted by users in certain situations. A lawyer who speaks in the new part Maass said that the creation of false identities to fill your site with new photos, behavior Brittain enters the criminal sphere.

The Ars Technica report (link above) covering the last interview Brittain also includes a large number of sentences and ridiculous claims Brittain, who seems to think he can say anything consequences as insisting that people who appear in your site want to be there.
"Do you mean all these people want to be on your site?" Maass calls.
"I would say yes," says Brittain. "I think people who want to see their photos ... I do not want is a bit of shame, some discrimination against persons. Suggest that you took the photos, it is obvious that people see. They sent many of them to random strangers who had never met. "
